The market is crowded — and quality varies wildly
Dubai has hundreds of web studios, from one-person operations to large agencies, and prices for “a website” span a huge range. The hard part is not finding someone to build a site — it is finding someone who builds one that actually brings you enquiries.
The right questions upfront save you from the most expensive mistake: paying for a site that looks fine and does nothing.
Judge outcomes, not just portfolios
A beautiful portfolio proves a team can design. It does not prove their sites perform. Ask what happened after launch — did enquiries go up, did the client stay, did the site rank? A studio that talks in results, not just visuals, is thinking about your business, not just their showreel.
The 9 questions to ask before you sign
1) Will the site be bilingual (Arabic + English) and properly RTL? 2) Is it mobile-first and fast on a phone? 3) Is on-page SEO included, or extra? 4) How do you handle lead capture — forms, WhatsApp, calls? 5) Who owns the site, code and domain when we are done? 6) What is the timeline, and what do you need from us? 7) What happens for maintenance and support after launch? 8) Can you show results from similar UAE clients? 9) What is included in the price, line by line?
The answers tell you fast whether you are talking to a partner or a template shop.
Agency vs freelancer vs template
A freelancer can be great value for a small, simple site — if they are reliable and still around next year. A template (Wix, generic themes) is cheapest but limits SEO, speed and Arabic quality. A studio costs more but brings strategy, design, build and marketing under one roof, which matters when the site is meant to drive revenue.
Match the choice to the stakes: a hobby page and a lead engine are not the same decision.
Red flags to walk away from
Be cautious if a studio: quotes a price before understanding your goals; can not explain how the site will get found; will not give you ownership of the code and domain; has no real UAE examples; or disappears the moment the invoice is paid. Cheap and vague almost always costs more later.

What good looks like
A good partner starts with your business goal, scopes to it, builds fast and bilingual, includes SEO and lead capture, hands you full ownership, and sticks around to help you grow. That is the difference between a cost and an investment.
